About This Webinar

One of the most often asked questions when training therapists in the ABC Model of Emotions is, “But how does this apply to grief.” To many clinicians, the grieving process seems to be contradictory to the ABC model and the assumption that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors.

This webinar will teach clinicians a CBT perspective of grief, how to convey that perspective in a clinically useful manner to the client, and how to help clients overcome complicated grieving, Therapists will learn how to overcome resistance to resolving grief no matter how significant the loss is for the client.

What You Will Learn

  • Define grief from a cognitive-behavioral perspective
  • Identify reasons for the client’s extended, unwanted grieving
  • Specify resistance to grieving
  • Utilize techniques to correct resistance to resolving grief
  • Apply the therapeutic system to produce long-term results
